CHAMPVA Provider Search

Find healthcare providers who may accept CHAMPVA β€” VA health coverage for spouses, children, and survivors of eligible Veterans.

Last updated: September 21, 2026 · Provider data from the CMS file dated August 18, 2026

Important: CHAMPVA has no provider network and no contracts. This list comes from CMS Medicare enrollment data (clinicians enrolled in Medicare). Being listed does not mean a provider accepts CHAMPVA β€” acceptance is each provider's choice, so always call ahead to confirm before your appointment. This is an informational tool, not an official VA site. VetSpouseBenefits is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Preauthorization required for: Inpatient mental health care · Care for alcohol or substance use disorders · Certain dental care · Organ transplants · Wegovy and Zepbound. Get preauthorization before providing these services. Outpatient mental health visits do not need preauthorization — VA removed that requirement in May 2024.

Weight-loss drugs: CHAMPVA does not cover GLP-1 medications prescribed for weight loss. They are covered only for FDA-approved uses (type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, MASH, or preventing major cardiovascular events), and Wegovy and Zepbound need prior authorization. Other insurance: CHAMPVA is always the secondary payer, except to Medicaid, Indian Health Service, State Victims of Crime Compensation, and supplemental CHAMPVA policies.
